Mrs Hine (2S)

Welcome to 2S, we have had a great start to the year and we are all beginning to settle in well. We have all been working hard and embracing the class aim which is to try our best and persevere in all we do.

Our topic 'Fighting Fit’ has been very successful and as a class we have learnt lots of facts about Florence Nightingale and the important work she did during the Crimean war. We have had an exciting visit from the Museum of Somerset, where we were able to ask questions and even dress up as Victorian nurses and soldiers for some fun role play! We will continue this work on Florence and look forward to a visit from a nurse, where we will be able to compare and contrast Victorian hospitals with the modern ones and find out more about how nursing has changed over the years. We have been learning about the importance of diet and exercise and found out many ways in which we can keep ourselves fit and healthy.  We have designed some super, healthy meals for homework.

We had a very busy morning doing Multi-Skills at Bishop Fox’s, fortunately the sun shone and we all had lots of fun. We are also enjoying our P.E sessions with the students from Kings College, where we have been learning some football skills and playing matches, ready for a small tournament with 2T at the end of term.
