Phew! What a lot has happened since I last wrote to you in the newsletter! Last week, we were visited by an inspection team from OFSTED, who spent two days with us to see the progress that the school is making. I was very proud of the staff and children as they accommodated our visitors - eagerly telling them about all the fantastic things on offer at Holy Trinity and showcasing what we’ve worked on so hard over the past two years since I joined the school. We’re currently awaiting the report that the inspectors have pulled together and I will of course share this with you as soon as I am able.

Of course, some of our team were deeply disappointed not to have been around for the inspection (!) as they were busy kayaking and climbing, rafting and tunnelling! The Year 6 team have had a great week taking the children to Skern Outdoor Activity Centre in Bideford. They were so impressed with the resilience and determination that the children demonstrated in order to try new things or overcome their fears. Take that spirit into the rest of your school year!

Work on improving our wider curriculum has continued apace this term and there has been lots of lovely new learning going on. Year 3 have produced some beautiful Japanese Noton artwork linked to their light and dark learning in Science; Year 4 have been focusing on the life and work of artist Georgia O’Keeffe and they are off for a gallery visit to be inspired next week.

The fencing project has been on hold whilst specific parts were on order, but is due to recommence the middle of this coming week, when the children will have extra playground space back. We will also be introducing an indoor space for children to access at lunchtimes.

With only three weeks to go until the holidays, all of our Christmas activities will be getting going - we’re really looking forward to seeing you at nativities and services. Friday 13th December will be a non-uniform day to support the TSA Christmas Fair.
